I enjoyed these new hand-blown, double-wall insulated glass cups for 4 weeks until I finally broke one. It was inevitable. In slow-motion, I watched the demitasse Assam cup roll off the table, drop 2 feet onto a wood board without breaking, then drop aother foot onto the concrete floor. That was that. When glass meets concrete, you know who wins. But I was surprised to see how it bounced off the wood surface without breaking and realized it is because the cups are lab glass (Borosilicate).

These are amazing cups, beautifully made, and make any coffee drink look elegant. In fact, the difference in the appearance, the hue, the opacity, of various single-origin coffees is so compellingly presented in these cups that (for me) it has underscored a source of coffee enjoyment; the beauty of brewed coffee.

The cups are double wall and they do insulate your hand from hot coffee, as well as help the beverage retain heat longer. No, it won't keep coffee hot for hours, but I tested 2 cups and a solid porcelain cup was 12 degrees cooler than the Assam 7 ounce cup after 10 minutes. The cups are great for cool drinks as well as hot.

The rated cup capacity is not measured to the brim. The 12 ounce Pavina probably holds another ounce if filled to the brim.  .Note that all glasses are sold in sets of 2. There are no saucers ... who needs saucers? Cats! Sorry, no international shipping
