Roasted Coffee Storage

What's the best way to store your home-roasted coffee batches? It depends how long it will be between roasting and brewing. The longer you plan to keep your roasted coffee around, the more you want to consider using a high barrier storage medium.

Glass is great, and you probably have small mason jars or similar on hand. Even better is a container that you can reduce the amount of oxygen. A valve bag allows the gases emitted from fresh coffee (chiefly CO-2) for force the oxygen out of the one-way valve. We now feature fully compostable, custom-printed Biotre bags with one-way valves. And we also have glass or steel coffee canisters which allow you to pump excess atmosphere out, helping your coffee stay fresh longer.
