Stand Up Pouch Bag with Valve

These stand up pouches have a zipper and valve which makes them a great choice for packaging or storing your freshly roasted coffee. They come in two sizes, 1/2lb and 1lb, to suit your personal preference and packaging needs. The top can be closed via a heat seal and the exterior is plain kraft paper so you can affix your own labels or decoration.

Overview

Stand up pouches have become one of the de-facto ways to package and store roasted coffee. The kraft paper exterior evokes the tin-tie bag, but stand up pouches have a number of advantages over that classic.

First, they have a resealable plastic zipper which helps to keep air out and your coffee fresh. In addition to the zipper, they have a complimentary one way valve that will let you squeeze out even more air and also ensure that any CO2 that builds up as your fresh roasted coffee degasses has a route to escape. Lastly, they can be heat sealed across the top for longer term storage, for sharing/gifting, or to meet retail packaging needs.

These bags are constructed from multiple, durable, laminated, layers with a kraft paper exterior. That is a fancy way of saying plastic interior, zipper, and valve with a brown paper exterior. Unfortunately, they are not post-consumer recyclable nor compostable. We decided to carry these in lieu of other options because we find that they last a long time and are reusable, and we hope that the extra durability and corresponding resuablity will reduce packaging waste overall.
