Atmos coffee storage canister by Fellow features a simple twist mechanism to remove air and prevent oxidation, while also reducing humidity around your fresh roasted coffee beans. Twisting the lid creates the vacuum, and a built in indicator turns green when the job is done!
Oxygen and humidity stale coffee, and exposure to atmosphere means aromatic loss. This simple mechanism built into the lid of the Fellow Atmos storage canister removes atmosphere from the container (including oxygen and humidity) and can double the shelf life of stored coffee, maintaining peak freshness. You can use it for snacks, teas, spices and other items too!
The lid creates a vacuum with repeated twists, and also tells you when the job is done! There is a small indicator on the lid, and when you see it turn green, you have created a vacuum.
The Atmos reduces oxygen and moisture, but doesn’t fully remove it, much as other types of vacuum products do. But Atmos is unique in that you don't need some external apparatus to create the vacuum, and it is pleasing to look at.
We have Atmos in .7 liter size = 23.5 fluid ounces. This can store up to 10 ounces of roasted coffee depending on the roast level and bean expansion. This size works well for most home roast batches, we think.
We are stocking this black stainless steel version, which is best for the coffee since it eliminates light penetration, as well as one with a glass container. The glass is pleasing we think, but for optimal coffee storage, keep it away from direct sunlight. Darkness is best for coffee storage. The canister can lose its vacuum after a few days, so you might need to add some twists for longer term storage.
