Shopping Guide: Green Coffee Sets
Our Sample Sets come with preselected green coffee beans based on seasonality, purpose and flavor. They're a great option for home coffee roasters of all experience levels, but we specifically recommend them to home roasters who want to break out of their comfort zones and explore cup experiences outside of what's familiar. You might also find yourself feeling indecisive or overwhelmed by our extensive green coffee list... these sets are good for those days, too!
Samplers
Regular Sampler (4 lb or 8 lb)
The Regular Sampler is the most popular set at Sweet Maria's. You can choose between four or eight 1 lb bags of green coffee. Each 1 lb bag is a distinct lot from our list. We regularly cycle through coffee, so you'll receive get a good variety each time you order a set.

Espresso Sampler (4 lb or 8 lb)
The Espresso Sampler includes coffee that we label "Good For Espresso." Don't get us wrong, though—many of these coffees are great as drip as well! The coffee in this sampler can take the heat, roasting dark enough to develop a profile that will translate deliciously as a shot of espresso. Like the regular sampler, you can choose between four or eight 1 lb bags of green coffee, which we also regularly cycle through, meaning you'll receive a variety each time you order a set.
Mini Sample Set (2 lb)
The Mini Sample Set is a mini version of our regular sampler, though you'll find upon ordering both that the selection of coffee is always distinct to each type of set. It comes with four different 1/2 lb bags of green coffee from a variety of origins. We recommend this set for folks who want to explore how much variety home roasting can offer, often for the first time, but don't want to go all-out on purchasing a home roasting machine. Try roasting this set in a wok, skillet or pan or even a combination toaster oven and air fryer... the results may surprise you!

Latest Coffee Additions Set
We list coffees on Sweet Maria's every Wednesday and Friday (unless it's a holiday). To make it easy for those who just want the latest of each week, minus any wild or high-ticket products you might second guess, we take 1 lb bags of all of the latest lots and drop them into our Latest Coffee Additions Set. Updated every Friday, the amount of coffee and the price of the set changes depending on what's available that week.
Flavor Sets
Flavor Sets take coffee from different regions in our list that share a specific characteristic and combine them into a set. These sets are great for home roasters who like specific flavor profiles, or want to explore origins using flavor as a starting point. Our Flavor Sets are priced at a discount and comes with four different 1 lb bags. Coffees in these sets are cycled in and out as lots sell out, so keep an eye on what comes with the set you've ordered!
Fruit Basket Flavor Set (4 lb)
This set explores big fruit flavors, not just fruit accents or highlights! You'll notice many natural or dry process lots, and the occasional anaerobic fermentation—but don't rule out wet process completely, as those are included when the opportunity arises. These coffees are best developed at the light to medium range, which means you'll encounter bold acidity and even bolder flavors.
Box of Chocolates Flavor Set (4 lb)
This set explores coffee and chocolate, a pairing about as old as the beverage itself. Coffees in this set have chocolate notes and a bittersweet core, all of which are best developed at the medium to dark range. Most of the lots we include in this set are "Good For Espresso," a plus for any regular shot-pullers.
