Will you let these wild horses take you away? If you’re looking for a new ceramic cup, we think you should! Featuring a straight-sided, handleless design and an illustration of nine horses in full gallop, we think this Miya “sushi cup” is a lot of fun. The script on the back says, “Everything will be okay.” After taking a few sips of coffee from this cup to get the day started, we have to agree.

Product Overview

We're big fans of these Miya "sushi cups" from Japan. They have straight sides, forgo handles and hold just about 8 oz of coffee. Physically, they’re nice to hold and use, but what really catches our eye is the illustration. The horses in particular stood out from the dogs, cats, birds and fish we normally gravitate towards.

There are nine of them in full gallop, and the Japanese script that accompanies them reminds us that, “Everything will be okay." (That's what it translates to!) These days, we could really use the reassurance.

Of course, the illustration brings to mind The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses," a pretty obvious association, but we also get strong Bob Seger vibes. We don't know why, but several of us thought of the 1990s Chevy commercials that played "Like a Rock" as the main theme. Maybe we’re showing our age, or maybe these are just really timeless cups.
