As a coffee business, the inspiration for a new blend typically precedes the creation of the art, but this time it was the other way around. Thompson put together this rad design, and we needed an excuse to put it on something. After some trial and error we came up with a new blend that is equally as rad (and importantly features four coffees), so finally we had a reason to produce these shirts!
The design features four Japanese monsters, also known as kaiju. (If you're a fan, you might recognize them: Jet Jaguar, Godzilla, Gigan and Megalon!) The traditional characters for the word actually break down to something like "strange beast"—which really resonated with us and serves as the name of the blend.
