Product Overview
Full Cupping Notes

This small producer Buesaco blend has made such a well-rounded brewed coffee, creamy dark sweetness from start to finish, with fruit accents as it cools, and moderate, mouth refreshing acidity. The fragrance has toffee sweetness accented by fruited hints, potent dark caramelized notes, with a note of green grape. Caramelized sweetness carries through to the wet aroma, punchy and out front, like torched sugar desserts, while breaking through the crust releases notes of baked fruits in the steam. The cup has very nice underlying sweetness, creamy caramel and toffee, with milk chocolate and bittersweet accents. As it cools, fruit flavors start to emerge, like baked apple and pear butter start, as well as mouth refreshing acidity has fruit juice appeal. The aftertaste trails off to some darker cocoa notes that leave a lasting impression on the palate, and bodes well for roasting this coffee to darker levels (we haven't tested ourselves yet!).

Origin & Farm Notes

This is a small producer blend made up from coffee farms near Buesaco town, in Colombia's Nariño Department. We put this blend together after cupping several samples from the region, the goal being to separate out any coffees that hit our quality target. The local coffee association is a newer venture started by two brothers who stepped out on their own to offer a more direct and transparent option than some of the local competitors. Association membership continues to grow, and we're always presented with some truly impressive coffees, including on our Summer 2025 visit to their warehouse cupping lab. Farms are typically planted in Caturra and Variedad Colombia (F4 and F6 types), grown at altitudes between 1700 and 2000 meters, and each contributing lot in this batch are fully washed.
