Origin & Farm Notes
Like so many other farmers, Tulio Arantes started working his family farm as a child, where he learned about planting, caring for, and harvesting coffee each growing season. At just 18, he bought his own small piece of land to plant a farm, eventually aquiring another. His farm is called Sitio Santana, and has an altitude of 1100 meters. It's located on the outskirts of Jacuí, which is part of south Minas Mogiana growing region. At just 8 hectares in total, Tulio is able to manage most of the operations with just the help of his family. This lot was dry processed, meaning the whole cherries are dried as one. While some dry process coffees can be fruity, Brazilian dry process coffees tend to be more body/bittersweet base, which has earned them the reputation of being the perfect base for blending.
