Hot Air Poppers

Hot air poppers are one of the most basic electric appliances that can be used to air roast coffee. Although they are not as advanced as other kinds of dedicated coffee roasters, they still deliver great results and are an easy and inexpensive entry point into home coffee roasting. Many home coffee roasters continue to use hot air poppers, continually replacing them as they eventually wear out, even after they have been roasting for many years because of the ease of use. 

Hot air poppers are not as sophisticated and have fewer controls than other kinds of home coffee roasters. For some, fewer controls can be beneficial as it allows for focus to be placed on what is actually happening with the coffee rather than what a digital readout is saying. If the lack of controls sounds frustrating, a more advanced air roaster like a Fresh Roast or a Popper is a Coffee Roaster may be a better choice.
