Hario V60 Glass Carafe
Product Overview
Product Overview
These days, it's become surprisingly hard to find a decent coffee carafe for a decent price. There are plenty of inexpensive ones that are ergonomically uncomfortable or made of particularly thin glass, and there are really expensive ones that are super "aesthetic" but don't have basic features...like a lid.
This carafe from Hario strikes a nice balance. It has all the features we'd expect (decent build quality, a comfortable handle, volumetric marks, good capacity and a lid!) without breaking the bank. It also looks pretty nice, too.
The mouth and neck of the carafe are wide enough to fit a standard aeropress and cap, but it you use Fellow's Prismo cap, then the Aeropress won't sit properly. All the other pour over brewers we offer (including our Clever drippers) fit great. The lid of the carafe itself can be turned upside down to form a sort of drip catcher for your brewer, and that works with the plastic V60 as well as the ceramic and metal Kalita wave. Ironically, the original ceramic V60 doesn't fit on the lid!
Ultimately you don't need a carafe. You can just brew straight into your mug, or a jar or (if you need to split it) a measuring cup that you already have at home. But if you do want or need a carafe, this is a good pick!
