Peru has always possessed amazing potential to produce great quality coffee, yet excellent Peruvian coffees are rare. To some degree, the success of Peru coffee has been it's downfall. Organic certified Peru coffees are ubiquitous, always as close as your local Trader Joe's, but the coffee is often poorly picked, processed and roasted, if it is even freshly roasted at all.
This coffee from Diomer Chaves Perez makes a great brewed cup, at City+ showing balance between developed sugar sweetness, black tea-like acidity, and nut flavors. Taking the roast deeper brings on bold chocolate roast tones, dialing back the acidity a bit. City+ to Full City. Learn More
A great daily drinking coffee from Agrion Villanueva, toasting sugar bittersweetness dominates the cup, with faint dried apple and almond notes, and a well-integrated acidity. City roast is a shade too light and tends to be a tad grassy. City+ to Full City+.
