Peru Organic Lot #16

When warm the cup profile is pronounced by a caramel characteristic that is both present in the mouth feel as much as it is in the flavor. As this coffee cools a crisp apple note evolves to the forefront. This is the kind of coffee I'd like to drink every morning. Its balanced and subtle but is perfectly clean and has the sweetness that makes you want to finish every last sip in the cup. City to Full City.

Puno Lot #16 is a combination of two certified Organic lots in the farthest southern corner of the province bordering Bolivia. This distance makes access quite difficult, and thus, these coffees are easily overlooked. Farms in the area are mostly planted in Typica with some Caturra and Catimor mixed in. The farms that make up this lot are quite small, and all the processing is handled onsite. Manual crank depulers are used to remove the cherry and the coffee is both fermented and washed in the same tank. This blend is one of a few we will be listing this year and is representative of the consistent quality from this region.
Puno Lot #16 is a juicy coffee that that has excellent sweetness and cleanliness. Fresh cacao nibs, dark cherry, toasted almonds and perfumed notes of fruits blossom lace the fragrance of the dry grounds. Bittwesweet cacao and more toasted nut appeared in the break along with ripe cherry. Although performing best at a City roast level this Puno lot was showed the most liveliness of them all at a more developed level.
