In 1938, a mythic hermit named Hira Giri is said to have brought some coffee seeds from Sindu Province of Myanmar (then Burma) and planted them in the Aapchaur area of Gulmi District,  Nepal. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter Hira Giri introduced coffee, it was not seriously planted until the government of Nepal imported coffee seeds from India in 1968.
