This kettle eliminates the need to transfer boiling water from one source to another. Traditionally, one would need to boil water and then pour it into a kettle with a gooseneck spout for the proper pour over technique. Now, your pour over party starts by just adding water to the kettle, flicking the "on" lever under the handle, waiting about 4 minutes (or less) for the boil and you can pour away. The kettle can rotate 360° on the base which makes lifting off and placing it back very simple. The base itself is made well but of light duty plastic. We don't think this is an issue since it's very low profile and won't see much action other than being a dock and conductor for the kettle. The cap snaps into place nicely and the "trigger" on the handle promotes good hand positioning.
