The reason why we carry this 33 oz. size (other than for frothing more milk - or having more room to froth a smaller amount of milk) is to use as a decanter when pour-over brewing.

There's a lot options out there for when you want to brew more than 2 cups from a pour-over brewer; you can use a tumbler or a little teapot or thermos.  We just figured there's no reason to spend too much on a fancy coffee decanter, when a properly sized metal pitcher will do just fine. For either direct pour over or the Clever Coffee Dripper, it is best to decant into a single vessel - instead of brewing first into one cup, and then another.  Using that method you end up with two vastly different cups in terms of coffee strength.
