This electric brewer has all the same great features of the other Technivorm models we sell, except for one difference...the brew basket. Instead of the three-way switch on the side of the brew basket, this model has a drip stop switch under the brew basket platform so when you remove the carafe, the coffee stops flowing. The CDGT comes with a footplate that sits under the carafe. Unlike the other Technivorm models, the CDGT requires you to use the footplate for best results because it raises the carafe the small amount needed to trigger the release lever properly.

The design of the CDGT is a departure from Technivorm's other models that have a 3-position switch on the side of the brew basket. The 9 hole shower head disperses the water over your grinds and we like the all-stainless-steel thermal carafe. It  does a great job of retaining your coffee's temperature and you can bang it around a little more than a glass carafe without worrying about it shattering. The new brew basket has only one hole, located at bit above the bottom of the basket, which ought to help with clogging.  Technivorms are known for their ability to brew at the correct temperature (about 200°F) and are certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of America. There's no pump so the water has to boil before it rises to the shower head and falls into the brew basket. It comes with a 5 year warranty.
