Is it a porcelain dripper? Is it a Clever? It's something inbetween. This creation from BonaVita is a porcelain dripper with a switch-operated stopper at the bottom. The base is plastic (clamped to the porcelain with screws) and the stopper is silicone. The only thing touching your coffee is a filter, porcelain and the top of the stopper. Rinsing out the cone itself is a breeze but the underside of the plastic base has some nooks and crannies that could get a little gunky after some time. Since it's dishwasher-safe, you should probably run it through a cycle on occasion. It comes with a plastic lid that's good for fighting heat loss as your coffee brews. Take advantage of porcelain's ability to retain temperature much better than plastic by rinsing your filter with hot water before you start brewing. This will keep the porcelain walls from transferring heat from the coffee as it brews. If your coffee mug or cup has a minimum opening diameter of 2.5" and a maximum of 3.75", then this filtercone will fit just fine.
It uses #4 filters and has a 19 fluid oz. capacity which yields about 16 oz of brewed coffee.
