Nano Challa has a sweetness of white honey, which is mildly fruited in flavor, and a healthy dose of toffee almond. Fruits like cherry juice and mild citrus come through in light roasts, with floral and Earl Grey tea. Darker roasts have red grape fruit, and a Ricola-like dark herbal aspect. Chelelektu is a nice example of a clean tasting dry process Yirg. Fruit flavors taste ripe, peak sweetness, but still close out the finish quite clean. Two Yirga Cheffes, two different processes, this one tastes more typically Ethiopia than decaf. Floral, fruited, bright, complex, many adjectives we used for the non-decaf counterparts come to mind when cupping. Zonegediyo is a classic Yirg, with bergamot and jasmine florals, herb tea notes, and a mouth refreshing citric acidity.
