How do you make a great cup of coffee at home?
Choose a brewing method that suits you. No brewing method is "the best" - it is largely a matter of personal preference. Some brewing methods are more suited to one type of coffee than another. For example, vacuum brewing tends to emphasize the delicate flavors in a cup, whereas espresso brewing makes a potent concentrate. Some methods are simpler, some more complicated. It should go without saying, but if you brew coffee that is low quality, poorly roasted, or old to start off with it will taste bad no matter what you do.
With all types of brewing, you need to use good, fresh water and clean equipment. Water must be between 195 and 205°F. The proper grind is also essential for maximum flavor extraction.
