Filtropa AromaBrown Paper Coffee Filters -Cone Type

These are my favorite filters for auto drip brewers that take cone-type filters (sorry, we don't stock any basket-shaped filters). They don't impart much paper taste, and are very sturdy. I think they are way superior to the flimsy Melitta filters that have busted at the seams while I have brewed my coffee on many occasions. The filter is bonded without the use of any glues or chemicals, and the paper stock is certified dioxin-free. Each box contains 100 filters. We have phased out the White Filters and now offer the Brown only. We just need to update the photos at some point..... Maria

#6 size Filtropa Cone Filters. These are certified dioxin-free white filters, manufactured by Filtropa and there are 40 in a box. These fit our Thermos Filtercone Holder quite nicely. The box style on these changes, but what's inside remains the same.

Our Selection of SwissGold Filters

We stock genuine SwissGold brand filters. If you want to strike a balance between a paper filter coffee brew and a presspot, these permanent filters might be right for you. Coffee brewed with a SwissGold filter has a heavier body as more oils and particulate matter are suspended in the cup. Yet they they produce clean coffee that doesn't have "mud" at the bottom of the cup.
  • SwissGold filters help coffee develop its full flavor (because the filter openings let all of the flavor through and do not trap aromatic oils like paper filters)
  • SwissGold guarantees optimum extraction time (because of the precisely computed filter openings)
  • SwissGold guarantees that no other flavors mix with your coffee (because the filter is inert 23k gold-plated)

These are well-crafted 23 carat gold-plated inert filters. With a good conical burr grinder or plate grinder, you can produce great coffee and never buy disposable paper filters again.

Please note: Swissgold has radically reduced their line of filters - so there is only one size currently produced - the KF-4 cone shaped filter below. These seems like a shame as there seems to be a consistent demand for such filters. But the high price of gold seems to have doomed the Swissgold filter.....Maria

Allows aromatic compounds and soluble solids in ground coffee to pass through while trapping undesireable insoluble matter.

SwissGold Filter Dimensions
These are dimensions rounded to the nearest 1/8 inch, and are give in inches, decimally (.125 = 1/8 inch). Top diameter means outside diameter at the open, top side of the filter, bottom diameter means outside diameter at the bottom of the filter as it sits in the brewer, height means the measurment of the side of the filter from top to bottom. Swissgold provides no measurements, these are all taken from my own uncoordinated hands and a bad metal ruler so allow for a bit of error.

Chemex Paper Coffee Filters (for Chemex brewers only!)

You need Chemex filters for your brewer, and the Chemex type (pre-folded squares) are only pennies more than the bleached, and do not impart a "paper taste" to the coffee. I like the square pre-folded best because they are strong, and when it comes time to toss the filter (into your compost, of course!) The square type give you neat "handholds" on the corner. You will have trouble using non-Chemex filters in one of these brewers. The "neck" between the top and bottom is a large diameter for regular cone filters and they tend to split at the seam under the weight of the hot water. It's not fun to clean that up. But Chemex brand filters are readily available and reasonably price. There is 100 in a box. And these fit all Chemex models except the small 3 Cup size that we don't offer.

Chemex Unbleached Filters (FSU-100) $7.50(+1.6 lbs shipping) add to cart Out of Stock

Chemex WHITE Filters (FS-100) $7.50(+1.6 lbs shipping) add to cart

Please note - It seems that Chemex has had a problem with the paper factory that makes the paper for their filters. They either were producing bad paper or went out of business, I am not totally sure which. So the FSU Unbleached filters are out of stock for a while potentially. The White filters are available in the meantime. When I know more, I'll post a note. - Maria
