Okay, once again this is totaly out of order but these are some interesting photos of the berry boring insect called the broca that plagues many coffee growing origins. El Salvador has the broca pretty bad but Nicaragua has other problems ...namely nematodes. I actually picked these coffee cherries in El Salvador, then went to Nicaragua (I had them in plastic and didn't open the bags, so no contamination worries). I only opened the bag once I got to the US and discovered the Broca! I t was in 2 cherries and I killed them immediately but you can see what voracious eaters they are, totally ruining the seed in a couple of days.
